Mexican president Andres Manuel López Obrador thanked US president Joe Biden on Tuesday for being the “first president of the United States in a very long time that has not build even one meter of wall.”
AMLO made the comments during a joint press conference between himself, Biden, and Canadian president Justin Trudeau.
“You, President Biden, You are the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not build even one meter of wall,” AMLO said. “And we thank you for that, sir.”
During the press conference, Biden claimed, “In today’s interconnected world, we cannot wall ourselves off from shared problems. We are stronger and better when we work together, the three of us, and together we made enormous progress.”
Biden visited a “migrant services center” in El Paso over the weekend that provides transportation and gifts to migrants that cross the US-Mexico border illegally this week.
During the tour, Biden asked workers at the center, “If I could wave the wand, what should I do?”
Former president Donald Trump unveiled a plan to deploy special forces against drug cartels if he is to be reelected in 2024 last week.”
Trump revealed the strategy in a video posted to Truth Social.
“Joe Biden has sided against the United States and with the cartels,” Trump said. “Biden’s open border policies are a deadly betrayal of our nation.”
“When I am president, it will be the policy of the United States to take down the cartels, just as we took down ISIS and the ISIS caliphate – and just as, unlike the situation we are in today, we had a very, very strong border,” he added.
“The drug cartels are waging war on America—and it’s now time for America to wage war on the cartels,” Trump stated. “The drug cartels and their allies in the Biden administration have the blood of countless millions on their hands.”
